So, about moving out into the beautiful Blue Hills boonies? Well there is some good news and bad news about that. The bad news is that after we arrived there was a problem with the house and we weren't able to move in as planned. But the good news is that we found a very nice place to rent in town, and we are really settling in and making ourselves at home. The house is old, well old for the Midwest, built in the 1920s I think, and has lots of character and nice dark woodwork around the windows and doors. The window panes have glass so thick and old that when you look through them things look just a little bit dappled and wavy, which is a lovely little view if you ask me. We are right on main street and just a short walk to the library, the co-op, and the lake. So far I love it and I'm getting the feeling that things are working out for the best, even if we aren't settled into that little house in the big woods. Ivo is a mite confused about moving twice in two weeks, he keeps asking me, "Are we going to stay in this house? Are we going to stay for eighty sixty hundred days?" We signed a nine month lease so we'll stay put until spring and then who knows. But for now this is really really good.
Here is Ivo goofing around at the park by our house. I love being just down the block from the lake, it's definitely one of the silver linings about moving to town. Last week we took a walk on the shore under the light of the full moon, then came home and had cocoa and stories in our jammies. It was just perfect.
