Amanda this is so great! My family is planning to do the same thing next year (and it's even to be close to my husband's best friend), except in the mountains of North Carolina. Best of luck to you and can't wait to hear about things as they go along.

New homes are so exciting, yet so overwhelming.

I love the freshness of our new home and would be quite happy to leave the remaining boxes of "stuff" in the basement.

I made each room livable, then sorted through the remaining, clothes, arts/crafts, toys, and organized as I went along.

I said I would be completely unpacked in a week.

Okay, it's been four and I'm still unpacking.

Best of luck to you and the start of a new life.

Jenny

Wow, how exciting! The area you're moving to sounds gorgeous, esp. at this time of year. I hope you'll take lots of pictures once you get settled. Good luck! :o)

Packing bites but getting to set up and really make your new place your own is such a wonderfull thing! Especially in autumn as everything is winding down and IN.
Congrats on your new journey!!!!

Stefani

Oh gosh. I'm turning more than one shade of green. I cannot wait to hear all the details of your new journeys.

Carol

Did I read that right? WI? Yippee! Call me or email me so we can catch up; once you get settled of coarse. That's the best news. Ivo looks great in the pictures. Such a sweet boy. Can't wait to hear more.

Amanda, that sounds so exciting!
Moving is so much work; you have my sympathy.
I don't remember how I discovered Foragers Harvest anymore, but I love that book and have learned so much from it. I use it all the time, and actually consult the wonderful harvesting time tables when I'm planning my month's cooking and canning, as well as our vacations! Sorry to gush, but it's really a special book to me.
Your husband must be quite a guy; "the best friend anyone ever had." !
Way to be brave in the moving to the woods step. I hope it's wonderful for you, too.
I bet Ivo will love it? My Gibbie dreams about moving to "Wild Forest" but it will have to stay pretend for the foreseeable future.

Kim
