This soft and squishy felt tea set is headed out to Denver for my dear nephew Quinn. I think it will be just the right thing for a little boy who has a love affair with throwing toys. And being the son of the pitcher from the MSU baseball team, it's no great surprise that when he throws a toy, that toy flies. Now he can pour some tea, drink it down, and fling the cup any which way he pleases.
It won't officially be finished until tomorrow when I sew some rick rack around the saucers, but I figured I would photograph it tonight while everyone is in bed. It can be really tricky to have a photo shoot of a new toy when little ones are afoot. And since I would like the tea set to look as fresh and new as possible when it gets to Quinn, I think I will hide it from my little one altogether. Because if my nephew is the thrower-of-toys, my son is the smoosher of food on all things. I think all he has to do is look at something and half of his breakfast will end up smeared on it in one way or another. hmmm . . . wonder where he gets it (here's a hint: not from Josh!!).
The pattern is from Toys to Sew and it is sewn from wool-blend felt and cotton embroidery floss. And I am up way past my bedtime. Good night!
